Does BudgetTrackr require an account? ▼
No. BudgetTrackr has no sign-up, no login screen, and no password. You open the app and start tracking your budget right away. The only optional iCloud sync feature relies on the Apple ID already signed in on your device — BudgetTrackr never asks you to create a separate account.
How does iCloud sync work? ▼
BudgetTrackr stores your data locally using Apple's SwiftData framework. When iCloud is available on your device, the app automatically syncs that same data through Apple's CloudKit service, inside the private iCloud database tied to your own Apple ID. If iCloud isn't available or is turned off, BudgetTrackr simply keeps everything on-device.
This sync is handled entirely by Apple's infrastructure. The developer has no server, no dashboard, and no way to view, access, or download what is stored in your private iCloud database.
Are my financial data private? ▼
Yes. BudgetTrackr contains no analytics SDKs, no advertising SDKs, no crash-reporting services, and makes no network requests of any kind. Nothing you enter — income, expenses, categories, or imported invoice transactions — is transmitted to the developer or to any third party. The only place your data can ever exist is on your device and, optionally, in your own iCloud account.
Where are my imported PDFs stored? ▼
When you import a credit-card statement, BudgetTrackr reads the PDF you select using Apple's on-device PDFKit framework to extract transaction data. That parsing happens entirely on your iPhone — the PDF file itself is never uploaded, emailed, or sent anywhere. Only the resulting transactions are saved, using the same local/iCloud storage as the rest of your data.
How can I reset my data? ▼
BudgetTrackr doesn't currently have a single "erase everything" button. You can remove individual income sources, categories, recurring expenses, one-off expenses, or merchant rules by swiping to delete them in Settings.
To remove all local data at once, delete the app from your device. Keep in mind that if iCloud sync was on, your data lives in your private iCloud database and may sync back if you reinstall — to clear that too, turn off BudgetTrackr's iCloud sync and remove its data from Settings › [your name] › iCloud › Manage Account Storage on your device before or after deleting the app.
