Introduction

BudgetTrackr ("the app", "we") is a personal budgeting and expense-tracking app for iOS, developed by an independent developer. This policy explains, as accurately and specifically as possible, what data the app handles and where it goes. It reflects exactly how the app is built today — nothing more.

Information We Collect

The developer does not collect, receive, or have access to any personal or financial information you enter into BudgetTrackr. There is no account system, no sign-up form, and no server operated by the developer that the app communicates with. The app itself contains no networking code — it does not send data to us, and it does not send data to any third party.

Local Storage

Everything you enter in BudgetTrackr — income sources, categories, recurring expenses, one-off expenses, credit-card invoices, and merchant categorization rules — is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. If your device has no iCloud connectivity, this local store is the only place your data exists.

iCloud / CloudKit Synchronization

BudgetTrackr includes an iCloud entitlement and is built to sync your data automatically across your own devices using Apple's CloudKit service, when iCloud is available and enabled on your device. Synced data is written to the private CloudKit database scoped to your personal Apple ID — not to a shared or public database, and not to any database the developer controls.

This means the developer cannot view, query, export, or restore your synced data under any circumstance; access to it is governed entirely by Apple's iCloud account security (including your device passcode, biometrics, and two-factor authentication). If CloudKit is unavailable — for example, iCloud is signed out or restricted — BudgetTrackr falls back automatically to local-only storage so the app keeps working.

Credit Card Statement Import

BudgetTrackr can import PDF credit-card statements (currently supporting Nubank, Itaú, and Santander formats) to help you categorize transactions faster. This is done entirely on your device using Apple's PDFKit framework to read the text layout of the PDF you select via the standard iOS file picker.

The PDF file, and any text extracted from it, is never uploaded, emailed, or transmitted anywhere by the app. Only the resulting transaction records (merchant, amount, date, suggested category) are saved, using the same local/iCloud storage described above.

Analytics & Tracking

BudgetTrackr does not integrate any analytics SDK (such as Firebase, Google Analytics, Mixpanel, or Amplitude), any advertising SDK or ad network, or any crash-reporting service (such as Crashlytics or Sentry). The app does not track your activity inside the app, does not track you across other apps or websites, and displays no advertisements.

Third-Party Services

The only third party involved in BudgetTrackr's operation is Apple, via the iCloud/CloudKit sync feature described above. BudgetTrackr does not use any other third-party SDK, backend, or API service.

Data Security

Because BudgetTrackr has no servers of its own, your data's security depends on the standard protections Apple provides for on-device storage and for iCloud: device passcode/biometric protection, and Apple's encryption of iCloud data in transit and at rest. The developer does not operate infrastructure that stores, backs up, or could expose your data — there is no developer-controlled system to secure or breach in the first place.

User Rights

Since BudgetTrackr collects no personal data and the developer has no access to your on-device or iCloud data, there is no dataset for the developer to give you access to, correct, export, or delete on your behalf — you already have full, direct control:

• Delete individual entries any time from within the app.
• Delete the app to remove all data stored locally on that device.
• Manage or remove BudgetTrackr's iCloud data from Settings › [your name] › iCloud › Manage Account Storage on your iPhone or iPad.

Children's Privacy

BudgetTrackr is not directed at children and is not designed to collect information from anyone. Since the app collects no personal data from any user, regardless of age, no age-specific data-handling exceptions apply.

Changes

If BudgetTrackr's data handling ever changes — for example, if a new feature introduces networking or a new third-party service — this page will be updated and the "Last updated" date above will reflect the change. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
